چکیده

Primordial follicles comprise an oocyte surrounded by a single layer of squamous epithelial cells, called pregranulosa cells (Peters, 1978; Greenwald and Terranova, 1988). Enlargement of the oocyte and initiation of granulosa cell division mark the beginning of follicular growth (Peters, 1978). Soon after initiation of growth, the pregranulosa cells, which form the simple squamous epithelium of the primordial follicle, become cuboidal and form the follicular granulosa cell layer or membrana granulosa (Peters, 1978; Greenwald and Terranova, 1988; Zoller, 1991). The oocyte begins to synthesize and secrete the zona pellucida, which surrounds and separates the

Intrinsic and extrinsic factors that influence ovarian environment and efficiency of reproduction in cattle

The emergent concepts on ovary environment, reproductive physiology and the development of pharmacology are constantly supporting the advance of assisted reproduction. Within the last years, the biotechnics related to the synchronization of follicular development and the manipulation of bovine estrus cycle have progressed rapidly and consistently. The combined use of timed-artificial inseminati...

Pnm-19: Ovarian Function and Obesity--Interrelationship,Impact on Women's ReproductiveLifespan and Treatment Options

Background: Insulin resistance (IR) is a consequence of obesity, and in women it is often inextricably linked with ovarian function leading to clinical reproductive manifestations such as early menarche onset, subfertility and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Materials and Methods: Likewise, the dramatic fall in oestrogen production after menopause may contribute to weight gain and changes in ...

It is the loss of ovarian function caused by a process directly affecting ovaries. Cancer therapy which includes surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy influence ovarian function, leading to premature menopause and loss of fertility. POI is idiopathic i...

Nutritional effects on oocyte and embryo development in mammals: implications for reproductive efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The environment in which a breeding female lives prior to conception and during the early stages of her pregnancy has striking effects on oocytes developing in the ovarian follicle and on early embryos in the reproductive tract. Of the various environmental factors known to affect oocyte and embryo development, altered nutrition during this critical period has been particularly well studied. Al...

Effect of Metabolic Stress on Ovarian Activity and Reproductive Performance of Dairy Cattle: A Review

Reproductive efficiency in dairy cattle has been decreased over the last 5 decades despite significant gains in genetic selection, improved reproductive technologies and nutritional care. In high-yielding dairy cattle, the negative energy balance (NEB) during the first week post-partum adversely affects ovarian activity, mainly follicle growth and steroidogenesis. Circulating levels of non-este...
